Laura Tillman

Laura Tillman is an award-winning journalist and the author of  "The Long Shadow of Small Ghosts: Murder and Memory in an American City," which was published by Scribner in 2016. She has written for The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, Pacific Standard, and The Nation, among other publications. Laura began her career at The Brownsville Herald in South Texas. She holds a BA from Vassar College in International Studies and an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Goucher College. She currently lives in Mexico City where she is a special correspondent for The Los Angeles Times and is at work on her next book
